Speaker – Samantha Bennett
Samantha has been qualified for 13 years as a Physiotherapist and for the past 7 years has been working within burns care as an Advanced Burns Physiotherapist.
In 2010, Samantha moved into trauma and elective Orthopaedics as a Specialist Physiotherapist with a developing interest with the impact of therapy in the recovery of trauma patients. Samantha has been undertaking a MSc with a particular interest in scar management and rehabilitation for burns survivors.
Samantha is passionate about the ongoing management of burns rehabilitation and how therapy can improve the long-term outcomes of burns survivors.
Samantha supports patients from the acute setting at The Mersey Regional Centre at Whiston through to the rehabilitation stage for the National Rehabilitation Service under the Katie Piper Foundation.
This has been an invaluable part of her development and understanding of how the lifelong impact that burns scars have upon survivors and how therapy can have a substantial difference in the long term.
