How Tecartherapy and Focused Shockwave is Applied in Sport Injuries
7th February 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
At Physiquipe, we are constantly searching for technologies that can enhance clinical outcomes in rehabilitation whilst saving time as well as reducing strain on the therapist. Soft tissue management is a core area of rehabilitation and thus there are thousands of systems which are on the market. This session will introduce two systems which are relatively new to the market, but are having a huge impact on getting patients off the treatment table and in to the gym or back on the field/court. TECAR therapy has been around for a long time but WINBACK has taken it to the next level, seeing it be adopted by many elite sports teams and now private clinics.
Although ‘shockwave’ is a term well used and known within rehabilitation, focused shockwave is a very different modality compared to the more commonly used radial systems. Manchester City Physiotherapist, James Baldwin, will discuss the difference between how MCFC have used the system and how it has helped their players.
As with any technology, it is only useful as part of a wider range of techniques, but the above two systems have had a big impact in the clinical world.
About Focused Shockwave
Chronic pain is a common problem which affects hundreds of thousands of patients around the world. Focused Shockwave has been successfully used to treat chronic pain problems through precise localisation and therapy of myofascial trigger points. This training session will give an overview of the newest scientific evidence, demonstrate different treatment methods and allow to try the shockwave system for yourself. Indications include:
- Soft tissue pathologies
- Joint pain (including facet joint)
- Repetitive stress injuries
- Dysfunction in transitional regions between tendons and muscles
WINBACK Tecartherapy is a combination therapy using tried and tested manual techniques complimented by an innovative high frequency technology. Used in combination the technique is used widely to recover acute, sub-acute and Chronic injuries in a faster time frame than with manual therapy alone.
We have worked over the past 5 years to build reputation in over 3,800 Elite Private Sports Clinics in EU & Asia as well as over 128 Professional Sports Teams in Football, Rugby, Cycling, Athletics & Boxing and now have a UK base of operations.
