For the Longest Time
We started working with the company at the end of 2022, after deciding to add a radial shockwave device to our portfolio.
I was a little unsure what to expect, but from the moment of landing in Guangzhou, being collected by our key account manager Taylor, the hospitality provided by the company could not have been higher.
Our Experience
Day one included the other 15 distributors in attendance and myself receiving the red carpet treatment and being greeted by the international team.
Longest was founded in 2000 by Mr Long, and since then, has had spectacular growth, being the first publicly listed medical company on the Chinese stock exchange and the first medical manufacturer in the country too.
They have recently moved to their new premises, which is a monstrous and incredible building on the outskirts of the city.
I was expecting a warm welcome, but nothing like this.
The company has 700 staff, including an RD department of 70 developing products. After a tour of the facility, the International Sales Director: Mr Sam Liu emphasised how they only settle for excellence in craftsmanship, led by the highest standards in medical devices.
After seeing the quality assurance checks, hand craftsmanship, and the attention to detail throughout, anyone who has doubts about Chinese products should have their mind put at ease.
Another major component of the trip was hearing from Longest other distributors from countries such as Mexico, Australia and Russia. Some of these are huge companies and have worked with Longest for many years, building big businesses.
It was great to hear that all of these companies place genuine relationships being a core value.
It was a great surprise and delight to be awarded the âabove and beyond awardâ in recognition of our Fast Growing Continuous Improvement.
We were also treated to lots of great food, tours of the very green and modern city (itâs known as the flower city), a tour of the opera museum and my personal favourite being the boat tour.
This was absolutely spectacular, showcasing the impressively lit buildings (including the Canton Tower), and the tree-lined walkways.
My sole contribution to the trip was a rendition of the One Direction all-time classic, âThatâs what makes you beautifulâ. Needless to say, this brought the house downâŠ
I have always been motivated by my work, but this has inspired me even more.
Working with great people and doing exciting things is what drove me to set up Physiquipe and our new partnership with Longest makes me very excited for the future.
