Richard is a Master’s level Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. His journey has seen him work in the NHS, private practice and predominantly elite sports in the UK and North America. He has worked at Crystal Palace FC, Brentford FC, Watford FC, Wigan Athletic FC, Montreal Impact FC, Scottish Men’s National Team and he is currently the Head of Medical Services at West Ham United FC.
To complement his clinical practice, Richard has also maintained his Academic interests with Honorary lecturing positions at The University of Hertfordshire and UCL. He has published and co-authored research articles while also continuing to peer review articles in well-respected medical journals. He has also completed an MBA in Strategic Leadership in July 2022 to enhance his managerial acumen.
Outside of his busy work commitments, Richard is a keen sportsman. He enjoys running and cycling in particular, having participated in numerous events including half and full marathons, triathlons, duathlons, and cycling endurance events. He also enjoys playing tennis, and has had great opportunities to travel the world, both with his work and in his precious time off with his wife!
