Ritchie graduated from Salford University with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy. His experiences have led his developing an insight into managing performance in swimmers and disabled athletes. Ritchie competed at the highest levels in the pool at World Championships and Paralympic games culminating at Sydney 2000 where he was narrowly beaten into the silver medal position.
He is also a lecturer on the Physiotherapy course at The University of Salford.
