Physiquipe is pleased to offer an MSK diagnostic ultrasound learning experience, featuring two focused sessions led by our expert MSK tutors.
This course is designed for beginners aswell as healthcare professionals who utilise diagnostic ultrasound in their practice and wish to enhance their expertise.
The day will include:
- Morning Session – 9:00am-1:00pm: Elbow, Wrist and Hand
Covering indications for use, relevant anatomy, and hands-on practice. - Afternoon Session 2:00pm-6:00pm: Foot & Ankle
Focusing on clinical applications, detailed anatomy, and practical scanning techniques.

Each session includes ample hands-on scanning time, allowing you to gain confidence in your skills with close guidance and support from our tutor. You can register for either the Shoulder or Elbow, Wrist and Hand session individually or attend both by selecting the full-day ticket option.

Expert Tutor: Michael Bryant
Michael Bryant is an NHS-appointed Consultant MSK Physiotherapist and Sonographer. He clinically leads a Primary Care MSK service in East Lancashire which incorporates MSK physiotherapy and an Orthopaedic triage service. Prior to that he held a Consultant post clinically leading an MSK service in Blackpool for 10 years
Michael has been using US since 2005 and he completed a PgCert in MSK Ultrasound from Cumbria University. He has completed US training in Oxford with St. Luke’s Radiology, Harrogate and in Italy with the world-famous Prof Carlo Martinolli.
He has a particular interest in tendinopathy and ultrasound-guided interventional treatments such as calcific barbottage, hydrodistension, tendon fenestration, High volume injection and guided injections. He has experience in US in Rheumatology when working in an early inflammatory arthritis clinic.
He is an Honorary Lecturer on the MSK Ultrasound Programme at Cumbria University and Salford University. He held a part-time Senior Lectureship at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) teaching the post-grad MSK modules including Injection Therapy, Advanced Practice and First Contact Practitioner. He recently left that post but still holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship and is still involved in post-grad education.
He teaches various national MSK ultrasound courses and has been teaching US for several years. He presented at the Primary Care Conference 2014 on the use of MSK ultrasound in primary care and at the British Medical Ultrasound Conference 2018 & 19. He also has published research on the use of US-guided hydrodistension in the management of frozen shoulder in primary care.
