Microgravity treadmill technology didn't start with Boost - but its next chapter does.

Boost was founded in 2017 by the team behind AlterG, the pioneers of all microgravity treadmill technology. Having developed the NASA technology and built the category from the ground up, Sean Whalen, Tom Allen and co. saw an opportunity to do more, to innovate faster, design smarter, and make the technology more accessible to the clinics, practitioners and patients who need it most.

The result is a microgravity treadmill that carries the highest possible pedigree, without the limitations.  Boost has a credibility no other system can match and represents the evolution of a technology that has already transformed rehabilitation and performance training globally.

Your patients need to move. The challenge is doing it safely.

In MSK and sports medicine, the window between injury and return to full activity is where outcomes are won or lost. Rest too long and you lose conditioning, muscle mass and confidence. Load too soon and you risk setbacks or re-injury. For too long, you have been forced to navigate that window with limited tools.

Microgravity changes that equation. By reducing bodyweight load by up to 80%, Boost treadmills allow your patients and athletes to walk, jog and run much earlier and safer with full clinical control. Whether you’re managing a post-operative knee, a stress fracture, or a performance athlete in a heavy training block, the ability to control load precisely transforms what’s possible in your clinic.

And think beyond MSK and neuro rehabilitation. Boost treadmills can be used for high-intensity conditioning., training load management and return to sport protocols.  Vy reducing impact, microgravity opens doors that a standard treadmill simply can’t.

The Boost Range

Boost treadmills come in three models, each designed with a specific clinical and performance context in mind. Whether you’re equipping a high-performance sports facility, a busy MSK clinic, or looking for a more compact and accessible solution, there’s a Boost treadmill built for your environment at your budget.

Not sure which model is right for your clinic?

Every clinic is different. Caseloads, space, budget and clinical goals all play a role in finding the right fit. Our team will take the time to understand your setup and help you make a confident, informed decision.

Help me choose

REDUCE BODYWEIGHT. INCREASE POSSIBILITY.

Boost treadmills reduce bodyweight load by up to 80% using air pressure technology originally developed at NASA. For your patients, that means walking and running sooner than they thought possible. For your clinic, it means a rehabilitation pathway that keeps patients active, progressing and coming back.

AUTOMATIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

No manual setup, no guesswork, no wasted clinical time. Enter your patient's height and the Boost does the rest, getting your patient in and moving in seconds. In a busy clinic, that efficiency compounds across every session, every day.

INTUITIVE FOR CLINICIANS. COMFORTABLE FOR PATIENTS

Ergonomic knob controls mean speed and bodyweight adjustments take seconds, no complicated menus, no steep learning curve. Patients feel in control from their first session, which matters enormously for confidence and compliance in rehabilitation.

BFR INTEGRATION

Boost 2 models are BFR integration capable allowing you to combine microgravity unloading with Blood Flow Restriction training in a single session. For clinicians already using BFR, this opens advanced rehabilitation and performance protocols that very few clinics can currently offer.

BUILT FOR CLINICAL ENVIRONMENTS

The Woodway 4Front slat-belt surface on the Boost 2 is the benchmark in treadmill engineering. Quieter, more durable, and significantly easier on joints than a traditional flat belt. It's not just built to perform. It's built to last.

“Day one and beyond”

The onboarding experience is parmount at Physiquipe. Getting a Boost treadmill is one thing. Getting the most out of it is another. That’s why every Boost treadmill supplied by Physiquipe comes with our structured onboarding programme. The “Day One and Beyond” programme designed to take your team from installation to confident clinical practice as quickly as possible.

Session One: Installation & Setup

Your treadmill arrives ready to go, and so do we. Our team will be on-site for installation, equipment setup and an initial walkthrough, making sure everything is configured correctly for your space and your team from day one.

The Gap: Your Time to Explore

Between training sessions, your team gets hands-on time with real patients and real cases. The questions that matter most only emerge once you’re using the equipment in practice, and that’s exactly what Session Two is built around.

Session Two: Clinical Integration

Your second on-site session is where the real depth happens. Bring your specific cases, your clinical questions, your workflow challenges. We’ll work through them with you tailoring the session entirely to how your clinic operates and what your patients need.

Service & Warranty

Investing in clinical equipment is a significant decision. We make sure it’s one you can make with confidence knowing that the support, the coverage and the team are there when you need them.

3 Year Warranty: Every Boost treadmill supplied by Physiquipe comes with a comprehensive 3-year warranty as standard. No hidden terms, no chasing manufacturers overseas — if something isn’t right, we sort it.

Designed to stay in use: Downtime in a clinical setting isn’t just inconvenient. It disrupts patient programmes and affects your clinic’s revenue. Boost treadmills are engineered with self-serviceable components, meaning many common maintenance tasks can be handled by your team without waiting for an engineer. Less downtime. More patients. More continuity.

When you need us: For anything beyond routine maintenance, our service costs are straightforward and significantly lower than you might expect from equipment at this level. No unnecessary call-out charges, no complexity, just practical support from a team that knows the equipment inside out.

Frequently asked questions

What is a microgravity treadmill and how does it work?

A microgravity treadmill uses air pressure technology to partially unload a user’s bodyweight while they walk or run. The user steps into a sealed chamber, and controlled air pressure reduces the effective load through their lower limbs allowing them to move with significantly less impact. Boost treadmills can reduce bodyweight load by up to 80%, in 1% increments, giving clinicians precise control over every session.

How is Boost different from AlterG?

Boost was founded by the same team that created AlterG, the original pioneers of microgravity treadmill technology. Having built the category from the ground up, they set out to develop the technology further, improving usability, clinical functionality and accessibility in ways they couldn’t within AlterG.

The result is a treadmill that carries the same heritage and pedigree, with meaningful advances in design, control and clinical application.

Which Boost model is right for my clinic?

That depends on your caseload, your space and your clinical goals. The Boost 2 Core and Elite are built for professional clinical and performance environments, with the Elite offering higher speeds for athletes requiring more intensive conditioning. The Boost 3 is a more compact and accessible option, well suited to clinics with space constraints or those looking for a lower entry point into microgravity technology. If you’re not sure, our team will take the time to understand your setup and help you make the right call. Just get in touch.

What clinical applications is the Boost treadmill suitable for?

Boost treadmills are used across a wide range of MSK and sports medicine applications including:

  • Post-operative rehabilitation,
  • Return to sport protocols,
  • Training load management
  • Stress fracture recovery
  • Chronic pain management
  • High-intensity conditioning with reduced impact.

The technology is equally effective in neuro rehabilitation, amputee rehab, paediatric care and weight management.

Do I need specialist staff to operate the treadmill?

No. The Boost is designed to be intuitive from day one to the point where a patient can use it without a clinician present.

Ergonomic knob controls, automatic height adjustment and a straightforward touchscreen with the option to pre-load training/rehab programmes in mean your whole team, and your patient, can use it confidently with minimal training.

That said, getting the most from the technology clinically is a different matter, which is why every Boost treadmill supplied by Physiquipe includes our Day One and Beyond onboarding programme, ensuring your team can apply it effectively from the outset.

What does the onboarding process look like?

Every Boost treadmill comes with our structured Day One and Beyond onboarding programme, included as standard. This involves two on-site sessions with our team. The first covers installation, setup and initial training. The second, scheduled after your team has had time to use the equipment with real patients, is tailored entirely to your specific clinical cases and workflow. It is onboarding built around how your clinic actually works, not a generic product walkthrough.

What warranty does the Boost treadmill come with?

Every Boost treadmill supplied by Physiquipe includes a comprehensive 3 year warranty as standard. If something is not right, we deal with it. No chasing manufacturers, no complicated processes, just straightforward support from a team that knows the equipment inside out.

What happens if something goes wrong with the treadmill?

Boost treadmills are engineered with clinic continuity in mind. Many routine maintenance tasks are self-serviceable, meaning your team can address them without waiting for an engineer visit. For anything more involved, our service team is on hand with transparent costs and fast turnaround. We know that downtime affects patient programmes and clinic revenue and we treat it accordingly.

Can the Boost treadmill integrate with other equipment or therapies?

Yes. Boost 2 models are BFR integration capable, allowing clinicians to combine microgravity unloading with Blood Flow Restriction training in a single session, opening advanced rehabilitation and performance protocols that very few clinics can currently offer. If you are already using BFR in your practice, this is a particularly powerful combination.

How do I find out more or see the treadmill in action?

The best way to understand what a Boost treadmill can do for your clinic is to see it working. We offer demonstrations so you can experience the technology firsthand and ask questions in the context of your own clinical environment. Get in touch with our team to arrange a demo at a time that works for you.
