The Alpinion minisono is a compact, Laptop or Tablet based ultrasound system designed for simple, point-of-care scanning. It connects directly to a Windows tablet via USB and provides high-quality 2D and Doppler imaging in a lightweight, portable setup.
The system typically includes a linear or convex transducer, core imaging modes, and intuitive touchscreen software. It is built for quick setup, ease of use, and flexible scanning across MSK, abdominal, and vascular applications.
The Alpinion X-CUBE i8 is a portable ultrasound system designed to deliver strong imaging performance in a compact setup. It features a single port with 64 channels, yet still produces image quality that rivals many 128 channel systems.
Lightweight, reliable, and easy to use, it supports MSK, abdominal, and cardiac scanning, making it a solid choice for clinics wanting high-quality imaging without the size or cost of a cart-based system.
The Alpinion X-CUBE i9 is a flagship portable ultrasound system designed to deliver near cart-based performance in a compact format. Built on X+ Architecture with advanced beamforming and single crystal transducers, it produces high-resolution images with excellent clarity and depth.
With dual probe ports, long battery life, and intelligent workflow tools, it is built for high-volume, real-world use. For many clinics, it offers one of the best balances of portability and performance currently available on the market.
Who are Alpinion and what makes them a leader in the field?
Alpinion stands out as a leader because of its clear focus on ultrasound and the depth of technology behind it. Their X+ Architecture combines advanced transducer design, beamforming, and image processing to deliver consistently high-resolution images with strong penetration and clarity.
Which is best for me between Handheld vs. Portable vs. Cart-Based?
This comes down to three things, budget, how often you scan, and how detailed your work is. Get that right and the decision becomes clear.
These are low cost and extremely portable and ideal for quick checks. There are limits with image quality and the features are more basic, so they suit simple assessments rather than detailed MSK diagnostics.
Right for you if:
The sweet spot for most MSK clinics. You get strong image quality, multiple probes, and proper Doppler, without losing flexibility.
They balance performance and cost well, making them ideal for clinics doing regular scanning.
Right for you if:
The best image quality, full software, multiple probes, and advanced features. They suit high-volume clinics where ultrasound is a core service.
Right for you if:
If ultrasound is a “nice to have”, go handheld. If it’s part of your service, go portable. If it’s central to your clinic, go cart-based.
What education and support do I get?
Education and support sit at the centre of what we do at Physiquipe. It starts from day one, when a Clinical Applications Specialist works with you to set up your system in your own clinic, making sure you are confident using it in real practice.
Our workshops then build on this, giving you hands-on experience across key MSK areas and helping you develop your scanning skills over time.
This is not a one-off interaction. It is ongoing support. Whether you need help with scanning, workflows, or clinical questions, we are here for you.
We believe in long-term partnership designed to support your growth and confidence at every stage.
The Physiquipe Academy workshops are practical half-day sessions designed to improve confidence and skill in MSK ultrasound scanning. Each workshop focuses on a specific area, including shoulder, hand, wrist and elbow, knee, foot and ankle, hip and muscle, as well as an introductory session for beginners.
Our tutors are highly experienced sonographers who work in elite clinical settings and have spent decades teaching and developing others. Alongside the workshops, we also run online webinars with leading experts, covering topics such as education pathways, injections, and practical tips to improve scanning in clinic.
