We know how important the arts and sports are to personal well-being and social connection, but it’s been challenging to get back in the game.
Athletes and performing artists share many common experiences in pursuit of elite performance and the accompanying physical and mental pressures. What have been the effects of COVID on athletes and performing artists? How have training, practice, and performance been transformed in the last two years? What lessons can we carry forward into the next pandemic?
On June 11, 2022, this inaugural Johns Hopkins Sports & Performing Arts Medicine virtual conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, coaches, trainers, educators, and student-athletes and artists to address the effects of COVID on elite performers, with a focus on the mental and physical health and well-being of athletes and performing artists.
