Following a undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science with first class honours, Woody spent time working in the field of strength and conditioning before undertaking a Masters degree in Physiotherapy in 2012. Since graduating, Woody has worked full time in professional sport, including lead positions in Super League rugby. Woody regularly rehabilitates and conditions professional athletes and world champions from sports including MMA, football, rugby, muay thai, motorsports, basketball, taekwondo, sprinting, triathlon, squash.
In 2017 Woody enrolled in and completed a Masters in Sport and Exercise Medicine with distinction. During this time, he added the practice of injection therapy to his skillset.
