Dr George Bownes has a wide range of Sport and Musculoskeletal Medicine experience having worked in a range of Military, NHS and Elite High Performance Sporting environments.
Dr Bownes has previously worked within Premiership Football and the English Institute of Sport working with Team GB Olympic Athletes and currently works as Club Doctor at Harlequins Rugby Club and a Tournament Physician at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon for The Championships.
Having worked for a number of years within the military at the UK’s leading rehabilitation centre, Defence Military Rehabilitation Centres Headley Court and Standford Hall as well as several Regional Rehabilitation Units around the country, he has gained a vast experience in leading a wide ranging multi disciplinary team in rehabilitating complex musculoskeletal injuries.
Outside of medicine Dr Bownes is a sport enthusiast having podiumed at numerous Ultras and completed multiple International marathons, Multi Stage Races, Ironmans and Road Cycling events.
Dr Bownes is therefore in a unique position of fully understanding the impact injury can have on an individual and is committed to returning patients back to higher levels of function and performance after injury.
