Andy is an experienced sports physiotherapist having worked at several top football teams. He explained how he ended up doing sports science as his first degree when physiotherapy was the thing he really wanted to do. Whilst qualifying as a physio, Andy volunteered at several clubs which ultimately led to him being offered a position at Bolton Wanderers. This was at the time when the club was being heralded for sports science and Andy talked about working with players such as Youri Djorkaeff, Jay-Jay Okocha, Ivan Campo and Fernando Hierro. From there, he went to overhaul the Liverpool FC Academy alongside Dave Galley before joining the first team under Jurgen Klopp. A combination of differences with staff members and wanting to spend more time with the family meant Andy leaving Liverpool and setting up his business of working with professional athletes under the Harris and Ross umbrella based in Wilmslow. He worked with Newcastle United FC for some of the 20/21 campaign and is reviewing several options for next season!
