Guest Speaker: Dr Marwan Al-Dawoud, Sport and Exercise Medicine Doctor

Dr. Marwan Al-Dawoud is a highly skilled Sports Medicine Doctor and musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound specialist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating tendon injuries, offering advanced interventional treatments such as injections. A graduate of the prestigious University of Manchester Medical School, Dr. Marwan has established himself as a leading expert in Sports and Exercise Medicine, contributing to the care of elite athletes and active individuals alike.

Dr. Marwan’s notable career highlights include serving as the Lead Doctor for the England Rugby League team, which reached the finals of the 2017 World Cup, and as Head of Medical Services for Leeds Rhinos, guiding the team to victory in the 2020 Challenge Cup Final. His expertise extends to his role as the Lead Doctor for the England Partially Sighted Futsal team, a team that has twice competed in the World Cup Finals, and as Sports Medicine Specialist for Northern Ballet, where he provides medical support to world-class performers.

Beyond his clinical roles, Dr. Marwan contributes to academic medicine as a reviewer for the British Medical Journal of Sport and Exercise Medicine and serves as a National Sport and Exercise Medicine Doctor at Connect Health, the UK’s largest independent provider of musculoskeletal healthcare. His NHS work covers Yorkshire and the North West of England, where he collaborates within MSK services to provide top-tier care to patients.

Dr. Marwan also maintains a strong professional network, working closely with leading Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, and Radiologists in the region. His collaborative approach ensures that patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team to support their recovery and performance.
